Thank them!
... You will pay us, through registration, for the nights of 5/1, 5/2, 5/3,
and 5/4.
Our registration tent will go up on Tuesday. At that point, we ask that
everyone sign in on the Arrival List clipboard, giving arrival date and campsite
number.
We'll post the hours we'll be there to check you in and give you your pre-ordered
T-Shirts. Also info about what will be happening at the Gathering (and when)
as well as interesting things to see and places to go, such as Castle Crags,
Dunsmuir, Lake Shasta Caverns and Shasta Dam.
New this year is the Pinewood Teardrop Gravity Races! Participants build
a car or car & trailer from Pinewood Derby kits and race them down a
double-long gravity track for prizes and bragging rights, so grab a kit or
two and start carving! For those really adventurous & crafty, we'll have
an "Unlimited" class where almost anything that will fit on the
track can run. For more info, view the topic on the T&TTT Discussion
Forum at http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52490
The "Friday Night Dutch Oven Sampler" returns, again, and since
the last two year's "Next Cast Iron Chef" festivities were such
a hit, we will continue it, as well. So all you D.O. aficionados, be ready
to cook your hearts out! And the rest of us will come taste what it's all
about. Mmmmmmm.
The "Saturday Night Campfire & Chili Cookout" is pot luck
for accompanying dishes. If you wish to contribute to the huge over-the-fire
chili pot, your contribution must be freshly prepared or canned. (Please,
no "hot stuff") This is when we all gather together around a huge
campfire for fun, fellowship, and food. We have a huge "Dutch Raffle",
hand out awards, enjoy the feast, and have a rousing old-fashioned what-we've-come-to-be-known-for "Dam
Good Time!"
Children have always been welcomed, and encouraged (they are our next generation
of Teardroppers, after all)! The campground has a nice playground, including
basketball & vollyball courts, and we are planning some activities just
for the kids this year!
And, there is much more in the works! You are not going to want to miss
this one!
NOTE! All campsites are on a first-come-first-serve
basis - no reservations.
If you need a site with power, please come early or arrange to share a site
with an early-arriver ahead of time. If, for medical reasons, you need power
or proximity to restrooms, let us know. Thanks!

The Dam Gathering has always been about Teardrop
Trailers and the people who love them ... ALL
teardrop enthusiasts are welcome! If you're
building one and it's towable, bring it! If you're just interested in teardrops,
come in/with whatever, and we'll park you around the edges. Vintage Trailers
and cool "Tiny Trailers" have always been welcome, too, but please
understand that they'll be expected to park separately.
